Real Life Locations of MOVIES

Many movies are based or filmed in real-life locations. Using real sites increases the authenticity of the anime and allows for more rich, realistic settings. With the advent of green-screen and other virtual technologies, however, films have become less dependent on real world locations.

Film tourism (a branch of cultural tourism) can bring significant income to otherwise low-tourism areas.

Note that film tourism as defined here will not include travel to film sets, which are deliberately-constructed areas that are not authentic. While many film sets are destroyed post-production some persist as either: (1) part of larger studio lots or (2) entirely abandoned lots.
