Real Life Locations of TV SHOWS

Many TV shows are based or filmed in real-life locations. Using real sites increases the authenticity of the anime and allows for more rich, realistic settings. With the advent of green-screen and other virtual technologies, however, many TV shows have become less dependent on real world locations.

Film tourism (a branch of cultural tourism) can bring significant income to otherwise low-tourism areas.

Note that film tourism as defined here will not include travel to TV show sets, which are deliberately-constructed areas that are not authentic. While many TV show sets are destroyed or deconstructed post-production some persist as either: (1) part of larger studio lots or (2) entirely abandoned lots.
